Day 7 Local Dr. Visit To The Slums.. MG Road shopping

Feb 25, 2011

going to see Dr. Pherwani at her clinic .. she's treated grandpa..you sit at a  desk with her..call you into her office.. she's a family friend..if not family.. treats my dad..very kind lady! She actually treats many people for free (including my dad)...her work and clinic is located inside the Sindh society as more of a charitable act.

Inside Dr. Pherwani's clinic we inquired about medicines we're taking and got prescriptions for new meds just in-case we get sick on palace on wheels.

Something interesting about the clinic was we were treated in a small room with the doctor..she used a bulky flashlight..it was nothing like the typical doctor office you see in the U.S.

mg road? lady with no hands.. spending hours shopping for Monika's dress..majority of the shop dealers are males! matching sunglasses for $4 ....saw  Asians and i said it was my family.

The slum - smells bad..it's a local path way..many stray animals! goats, cows..dogs! little huts..

walking back from the slum we ran into my dads holy friend...he smiled and did a gesture to say hello..we carried out a very short exchange and I think he blessed me... pretty cool!

Today I learned how to say see ya later = "fir mal-en-gi"
I also learned how to count to ten!
