Wake Up call was bright and early! Our dad is trying very hard to get us conditioned for the Palace on wheels... Today Monika went out again with Uncle Hurris daughters, wife, and daughters friends to shop... My dad I I went on our own little exploration through the what Monika refers to as "mean streets of India".
We journeyed out to finally get service on my cell phone! (I think my dad was nervous because he had a hard time getting a hold of Monika the other day when she went out with Hurris daughter).
on our journey to the shop.. we stopped by what I would call the Indian version of Wells Fargo bank. The bank was filled with people doing transactions and ready tellers, bankers, and a young enthusiastic manager pushing sales!
unfortunately for my dad he forgot his I.D. and we had to gooo alll the way back to the Sindh Society to get the damn thing!
instead of walking IN CAME THE RIKSHAW ..
Crossing the road in a RIKSHAW!!
Once we finally arrived at the house.. I waited in the Rikshaw.. the driver just starred at me and smiled (must of thought I was an idiot or something lol) .. while I was trying to shoot a picture of the butterfly going in and out of the rikshaw
We finally made our way back to the bank ...then off we went walking the streets again.. stopping at various spots until we made it to the cellphone shop... we also stopped by a handicraft expo .. here where you barely glance at one item and the seller runs right up to you in hopes you buy! (odd part is they didn't say anything to me when they walked up - just stood next to me lol)..
Around the corner of the expo we had my work pants tailored for $1 !! very good deal.
Once back at the house we met up with my sister Monika ... she had bought dresses with the ladies..and claims that everywhere she goes people stare at her! lol...
Something she observed was all the Indian kids hanging out at the Indian mall on dates...funny that they all go eat at the Mcdonads instead of eating the Indian food.
dad mentioned that massage man does not like my hair - we picked up my pants from the tailor..Monika was shocked to learn they were all males doing the repairs and mine had no legs.
Today My dad taught me why the Indian people where those silver bracelet things on their arms today... essentially it used to be a sacred part of the Sik religion..then later caught on as a fashion trend in the 70's .. so essentially people who where them are either very religious or very out of style lol.
***kid running into traffic...using kid as a rag doll to hit the ball..
dogs came running at us.. people lighting fires in village?
took pics of Monika in sari
dads getting a little frustrated we keep questioning the Indian lifestyle and are bit apprehensive when it comes to trying new things.
